This transition will provide an excellent opportunity for commencing and developing an exciting and challenging career within the Ministry of Defence and Civil Service. Creating this single integrated operating base is to ensure that the Royal Navy is able to deliver its operational commitments across all Defence Lines of Development from Scotland on an enduring basis. HMNB Clyde will be the single operational home of the Submarine Service from 2020 and will become the United Kingdom’s Submarine Centre of Excellence. Royal Navy Armaments Depot Coulport (RNAD Coulport) is responsible for the storage, processing, maintenance and issue of the Trident Weapon System and the ammunitioning of all submarine-embarked tactical weapons. This is achieved by ensuring at least one Vanguard Class submarine is on patrol at sea every day of the year. HMNB Clyde’s primary purpose is to provide engineering and logistical support to the Royal Navy in maintaining Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD). It is an operational support and maintenance Naval Base within Navy Command and comprises both Faslane and Coulport sites. His Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) is home to the United Kingdom’s Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, Astute Class Attack Submarines, Sandown Class Mine Hunter Vessels and 43 Commando Royal Marines.
